Starting January 1, 2009, Ulster County will undergo an historic transition to a new charter form of government. For the first time ever, this new structure will include the office of County Executive. The County Executive will be an elected official, directly answerable to the people, with the authority and power to create an executive budget; to set overall goals and priorities, to cut wasteful spending - and to hold each and every County department, agency and manager accountable for results!
• Finances work, inside and out.
• Effective government should perform– and why it often doesn’t.
• To run a 325 million dollar operation, with 2000 employees.
• To motivate and inspire people to work together, innovate – and reach higher!
• To build on Ulster County’s considerable strengths and assets to create a future that we can all be proud of.
