| Under our new Charter form of government the most important power of the new office of County Executive will be the County Executive's ability to hold each and every County agency, department and manager accountable for RESULTS! Historically, County departments and managers have not been accountable to any one person, but rather to a multitude of well intentioned part time legislators. At best, the old form of Ulster County government produced varying degrees of oversight and cost effectiveness. At worst, it produced financially draining projects such as the new Ulster County Jail. |
